The UTLX tank cars used at least 4 types of trucks while on the D&RGW. The narrow frame cars used a heavy arch bar truck, two pair of these survive on the two cars converted to water cars on the C&TS, I believe another is at the Sumpter Valley and there are several pair on the Alder Gulch property.
The first Van Dyke (frameless) first were placed on 1923 vintage, 4'8" WB Andrews trucks borrowed from 5900 stock cars. They were shortly (1938) replaced with 4'8" wb ASF trucks (these were an updated version version of the 1923 Andrews trucks with integral journals)
A number of the 1923 trucks survive under the 6400 aand 6600 flats, a number of the 1938 trucks were placed under the narrow frame cars that went to the White Pass and then came back again.
In about 1947 UTLX had 20 pairs of trucks made by ASF for use under some additional Frameless cars which were being used seasonaly in road oil service. When this traffic was switched to highway these 4'11" wb trucks were purchased by the D&RGW and placed under the 9600 pipe gons. Most of these still survive in various locations.
