There are sometimes myths in this hobby of ours...but this is not one of them! I can't tell you the span of years that one of the malley boiler shells was inhabited, but Al Shelton & I both saw this really feral, unkempt, nearly naked guy that had made one his home. This was March of '73. The guy was very short, barely 5 foot tall. I saw him before Al did, which nearly proved to be Al's undoing as he kept backing up toward the malleys to get a picture, all the while getting closer and closer to the guy. I finally said something & he was pretty startled. Later, in the safety of our rented car, we joked about the cannibal of Escuintla.
