PRSL: I too have wondered if any other engines were used in scrapping. There are only two others that could have been used as far as I can tell. These would be OLC 50 ton Heisler #100 which wasn't scrapped till 1954, and OLC 30 ton Climax #105 which wasn't scrapped till 1949. This engine was originally a Hallack & Howard engine from LaMadera, N.M. All of the remaining Stoddard engines were promptly scrapped in 47 along with the only other OLC engine remaining #104 a 42 ton Heisler. #100 was such a unique engine being outside framed, rather a large engine for a 2 truck NG engine and having a cross compoud air pump. It had been purchased new in 1924 by OLC. I believe I heard that this engine was offered as a park engine to the City of Baker, but they didn't want it. I think I have been told that the #7 was last under steam at S.Baker in either 54 or 55. I believe Casey Carlson interviewed an employee that gave a rough date when he had fired it up for the last time.
