I talked to a guy yesterday morning that remembered driving on the old road up on the ledge. He said it was one lane around the rocky point and the local custom was to always honk before you ventured around the corner to warn someone comming from the opposite direction. Interesting guy in that he also was the nephew of the fireman on the last pass. train in 1937 and road in the cab on the return to Baker from Austin.
