Attracting Tourists (an opinion)

IMHO:
1. The C&TSRR needs to do a better job of marketing the railroad. We all need to remember when George was here the railroad was close to 70,000 riders. George made a lot of mistakes but he did know how to market.
2. The communities need to market their areas and not rely on the train to do the only marketing. Attract people to town for other reasons than the train then sell the train ride to them as a bonus.
Extending the hours at Osier IMHO won't work. All you are going to do is make a long ride longer and get into trouble with the crew hours. You can do and have all the things mentioned at Osier and market driving to Osier the day before or the day after the train ride to do all the things mentioned (chase the train and have lunch at Osier). Every year since Stephen has been doing the food more & more people are driving up to Osier. YES!!! you can drive up and have lunch any day that Osier is open.
