Steve,
The Knights Foundry has gone non-profit with a group affiliated with the Society for Industrial Archaeology. The foundry project is the main project for the California Chapter.
Yes, they intend to keep a massive collection of foundry patterns.
They made some parts for the Maritime Park back several years ago.

The NGDF was started by Don Richter and is currently operated in his memory by Nathan Holmes and others.
