Grant writing

May 15, 2006 07:34PM
I never ventured there, but I know that grant writing is a very tough job. No matter what grant it is, there is a maze of requirements to navigate, and sometimes just one wrong sentence can earn a rejection. Often the decisionmakers get confused by request language and that will earn a rejection. The president of the DRHS, George Neideraurer, learned this when writing grants requests to the Colorado Historical Society for money to repair 315. George is patient, however, and wrote several grant requests that were successful enough to almost complete the project. BTW we are on one more campaign to raise about $20 K to complete the project.
