Terry,
It matters that readers at this board have been told numerous times by CHS and its supporters that the #9 would be running in June, then July, then by the end of the season. This was an obvious impossibility to anyone with even the slightest idea of what it takes to restore these machines.
I have wondered many times why these lies continued to be told and in many cases believed.
It goes to the core of credibility to the entire new operation, which includes CHS and Railstar, and their employees and supporters.
As to your comment about some of us acting like we "own" this equipment, I have donated thousands of dollars of my own money and hundreds of hours of my own time (along with several others) into the care and maintenance of Boulder's Park engine #30/74, which finds itself a pawn in this scenario. So I do have a vested interest in what is going on and if you don't like it, tough.
I have not said anything negative about Railstar, which is in a precarious position, and I wish them well. I think it is extremely interesting that out of the blue yesterday some information was revealed to us that finally begins to make some sense as to the "restoration" of #9 and its return to the loop, and here you are whining about us being negative.
Why don't you go back and reread some of what you are being critical of and lighten up?
I can speak only for myself, but I can damn sure do that.
