Earl,
So great to be brought up to date on your activities. I remember being in Chama some years ago when the 497 had been delivered in the exchange of K-28 482 with D & S. The 497 had just been moved into the enginehouse, and looking down from the cab, you invited me to take a look at "our new plaything." The guys were standing in the cab, talking about the differences between the K-28s and larger locomotive. It was interesting to hear the conversation.
I also have repeatedly watched the videotape that begins with your describing rotary OY and illustrating how it operates. I think that tape was one of Greg's products.
Glad to know that you are continuing in the locomotive business and hope that one day you will be back in Chama. You have a talent, I believe, in talking about the railroad to the public and explaining its rich heritage. And I like the old style hat you wore as an engineer!
Cheers.
