all exageration aside on gas prices, the "record high prices" for the summers of 2003 and 2004 didnt stop people from coming up the hill to ride the loop in it's last 2 years. Dispite the whineing at the pumps our passenger traffic was up 11% from the 2002 season and kept an upward trend right to the end of GLR, Inc operations. Nor has the pump whineing effected the Canyon City operations numbers either and it isnt exactly on the beaten path.
People arent going becasue they dont know the Loop is running becasue its is not advertised or promoted liek the former operation was.
Gas has little to do with the low attendance figures. CHS's lack of forward thinking and planning is more the culprite here and for the record the average in colorado is about 2.10 +- a gallon.
