There were two.

Into the late-1970s, there were two of these 2-8-0s, both last used by the San Luis Valley Southern at Blanca, Colorado. The other one was ex-D&RGW 688, last known as SLVS 105. The latter was partly dismantled in the 1950s by furloughed mechanics from Alamosa, but never repaired after it was determined the work was too costly. It was at that time the SLVS built its homemade diesel from a D&RGW idler car and dropped steam operation. The incomplete 105 sat at Blanca into the 1970s, but was eventually cut up. I believe the tender still exists, however. Last I knew it was somewhere north of Durango. The San Luis Central also had a 2-8-0, but it was not of D&RGW origin and was scrapped when they bought their 70-tonner.
