Re the #60: Bob Bowland of Idaho Springs said this past Saturday that a $300,000 funding request was submitted to return the locomotive to operating condition. I'll ask Bob for more details at the re-scheduled LPCC meeting next Wednesday.
As for CHS overlooking the #60 and the #71, they *did* consider those locomotives, and many others. In their scramble to get narrow-gauge steam for the 2005 Loop I doubt there were many - if any - three-foot gauge locomotives they didn't consider.
