Some good news for the C & TS. They are receiving some badly needed money, they will have three locos ready to go, the schedule is being expanded, the Goose is coming for a short visit and I would assume that this would increase the ridership (myself included for the first time).
One negative though, I see that there are 107 inches of snow at the Cumbres trestle this morning. I realize that lots of precipitation will prevent fires but will the melt happen fast enough so that the season can start on time. Even if it does I assume that track maintenance will have to happen quickly to make sure it is in the best condition possible. If there is some snow left at the beginning of the season, does that railroad have the ability to plow it or is all their snow fighting equipment unavailable.
