different view in Alamosa...

The couple of Alamosa guys I've talked to liked getting called for the rotary, because they made a ton of cash. Mr. Morgan referrd to it as "The Wheel Of Fortune". They essentially got paid for continuous duty until the tied up in Chama or Alamosa. Perhaps having a support train with bunk cars & cook cars made it much more bearable. The guys told me it got a lot more bearable when the former RPO cars replaced the old box-outfits. Those old 4100-class boxcars were cold and drafty.
