Yeah, I kind of figured that into Grass Valley proper would not work. But on the maps I saw the ROW makes a big U curve into Grass Valley and I wonder if you could just cut across the ends of the U and hit the mine.
The crossing did not seem connected to the in plant tram line. Its outside the fences of the mine itself. It did not run right next to the winch building but just beyond it, closer to the foundations for the emergency generator building and a fixed crane that was listed as being used to lift equipment that was shipped to the mine. Perhaps it was a spur. I did note that maps list a station at "Empire Mill" but I didn't know if that was the same place.
Yeah, sorry we missed each other, Andrew. Only had about an hour and my girlfriend wasn't going to sit still for me hanging around much more than that!
