Yes Steve. The CHS has donated money these railways. I got this information from the list that was posed on this web site a few weeks back that listed everything they had given money to. I have been trying to find it again so I could give you the exact numbers but I can’t find it right now. I’ll keep looking for it since you only have my word for this right now. However, I’m sure that the guys at the Durango RR Historical Society can confirm this.
From memory, the CHS did put money into the Section House at Osier along with the Needle Water Tank, the Rico Water tank and the others that I mentioned in the other post.
My original point was that people who just take mindless shots at the CHS as an organization are also bashing the organization that has already put a lot of money into Colorado railway projects and will again in the future. NOW, if they want to take shots at the "people" whom have caused the problems at the Loop like Mr. Lee B., then that is a whole another story. Sure, there is no disputing the fact that there are people in the CHS that have caused a lot of damage. However, there are also people in the same organization that have done a lot of good.
