Jeff-
There WAS an 0-8-0 at Edaville with the old Heritage Square cars (and the Plymouth), but ironically, I understand this one wasn't from Heritage Square! I believe it had a reinforced lap-seam boiler on it and they couldn't legally operate it (as in a few other New England states); so it was sent over to Germany somewhere and runs on a RR there. This one was a Jung, I don't know the builder on the Heritage Square lokie.
I don't know where the actual High Country 0-8-0 went, or what the Tom Thumb was...the old Heritage Square cars were out at Edaville 2 weeks ago (converted) and being used that day. If anybody doesn't know about these...the little coach is in Rome, NY owned by Ron Trottier/Railstar; and the Shay after being for sale for some time went to Doug Kuntz in Bradford, PA and is running on his RR. A homely little Shay before Marc Lamoreaux rebuilt her, that's for sure! And then of course, the Henschel 0-4-0T is out at the Nevada County Traction Co. At one point I thought I heard there was interest in running her on the 2' there.
The 15" started running in '98 owned by Ken Scheer. Used the Uhrich #463 for awhile before it was brought back to Strasburg and Scheer's own little gas "critter" took over. The gons on the line appear to be built to 5-1/2" scale; real nice cars.
I've heard of the rolling stock on the line having origins to the Colorado Central; the open cars, or the coach, (or all) being built on old flatcar frames and put under 2' trucks. Can anybody expand on this? A Heritage Square/Magic Mountain article is something I'd like to do for "ON TRACK"; since I like to get in those lesser-known (by some, anyways) operations...
