Excellent site with great shots.
If I remember the 42 was a static display by the time of my first visit and the excursion cars were enclosed for dining in. The 2' gauge was running by 1971 when the Heritage Square name was applied to the old Magic Mountian. I would spend many an hour with Ed Gerlits and Stuart Anderson in the cab learning to hand bomb those little puffers. My last ride up there was 1989 and it was gone by the early 90's.
The #42 was still there in 1982 when I attended a convention and wound up firing both the shay and 0-8-0 for the next two days. Everything that could run on the 2' gauge was put out on the line. Double header with the #9. Lots of great memories.
There is still one of the excursion cars at Heritage square complete with the truck under it. Also looks like one at CRRM.
I know where some of the 2' gauge stuff ended up at, but does anyone know what happend to the 0-8-0 and the Tom Thumb?
