Shay and Ft. Steele info

I was up that way in 1996, and we stumbled onto the Shay you mentioned. I had never heard of this place, and told them they needed more PR. Unfortunately it had operated a day or two before we were there. Shay look immaculate though as you said.
As for Ft. Steele, we saw 2-6-2 number 1077 (originally from Vancouver Island) in operation when we were there. We used a bit of footage of it in our "Scenic Trains of Canada" video. That tape does include some narrow gauge, which includes the #1 0-4-0 at Ft. George Park in Prince George. It is an authentic engine once used to build the railways for the Grand Trunk Pacific, which was later CN. It was built by Davenport, and we got to talk to the engineer who happened to be an ex-CN hogger. Nice museum there by the way, but not much for the railfan!
