Tim: It's not narrow gauge of course but I believe that the Shay at Kettle Valley RR at Summerland was restored by the BC Forest Museum and is owned by them. I've been in it's cab and it's a very fine engine. The cab interior is restored much like the Sumpter Valley 19 with plenty of varnished woodwork.
Slightly unrelated to this post but a while back you mentioned you might post some info on the Dawson Mines Narrow Gauge in the Yukon. I would encourage you to do so as it my guess is that there isn't as lot out there in print about it.
