Most of the "engineer programs seem to be operated with standard gauge diesels. Steam, I should think is for those who are not beginners.
The CRRM has two small Diesels. The engine called PEE WEE, which I have not seen run, but should be a good starter engine. And I believe soon the larger D&RGW # 50 is supposed to be running with a re-built drive train.
Speaking of Internal Combustion locos wouldn't it be great to see both Sumpter Valley 101 and D&RGW 50 ex Sumpter Valley 100 running together at either of the museums?
