Psgr Car Resistance,
lb/ton = 1.3 + 29/W + 0.03V + 0.00034AV^2/WN
Frt Car Resistance,
lb/ton = 1.3 + 29/W + 0.045V + 0.0005AV^2/WN
W=Ave tons /axle
N=Number of axles
V=Speed(mph)
A=Frontal Area(sq ft)
Grade Resistance =
(2000lb * 1ft)/100ft = 20lb/ton for 1% grade
Curve Resistance = 0.8lb per ton per degree of curve
