I'll be out to Colorado/New Mexico with my family for Labor Day weekend. One reason is the 486 - I've wanted to see it run ever since I saw it at the Royal Gorge back in 1991. We are traveling fast and light and will try to hit as many NG highlights as we can. Unfortunately, because of the time constraints of the trip, we won't be able to ride any of the trains this time. We will visit the gift shops, though, and try to contribute to the continuing operations in that way. I also have a "Friends" membership form that I downloaded several months ago and this will be a good opportunity to get it turned in. Does anyone know if it is possible to get into the Como roundhouse? I have been there several times, but we have always respected the "No Trespassing" signs and not ventured onto the grounds. I've seen several posts about some of the work that has been done at Como and wouldn't mind a closer look if it could be arranged. Also, is it possible to find out which D&S locomotives are powering which trains? I would like to be able to see the 486 run and it would be handy to know which train we should try to catch. Thanks for any info.
