Re: 486...

I don't know what the official word is but I rode behind 486 on Saturday and she sure sounded like she was running smoothly. Didn't seem to miss a beat all the way into Silverton. I was told that there was a leading truck problem that was discovered on the test run on Friday but it was corrected before the run on Saturday. I took some photos inside the cab as it was the cleanest I had ever seen. Probably won't stay that way very long. I did notice some scrapes on a couple of the counterweights. It looked like maybe the bolts on some of the side rod joints might have been hitting the counterweight on tight curves. I am no expert so don't shoot me. Also heard that the air pump was swiped off of the K-28 in the museum. The K-28 was definitely missing an air pump.
