A few months ago the White Pass e-mail group had a discussion about the colors of the former Sumpter Valley when they arrived. While the combos went north for the US Army, the coaches (one converted to combo on the SV) and the one RPO went north after war. The result of the discussion is that the cars were salmon-pink not a yellow or anyother color when they arrived at Skagway.
Builder's photos of the ACF cars show that they were painted traditional green when built. A number of years ago Frank Ellington in Iowa offered prints from copy negatives he took of ACF builder photos.
