Thanks Bruce! The Sumpter Valley can be quite hot in July/August. I recall a couple days during a 95-100 deg. heat wave a couple years back spent in the cab of our wood fired #3 as fireman. Each day I consumed a full one gallon water water jug, a quart of bottled water, a med. size gatorade and a can of V8 juice, and still felt parched. On the other side of the coin early Spring and Fall temps can be cold and sometimes wet. When we do fire patrol with our A4, and in times past with the 10 ton Plymouth, we back up grade shoving the water/fire car. The cold wind and rain(fire patrol in the rain...) comming in the open back has been real misery. I would prefer a closed cab with the option of opening windows and doors as needed.
