"for the dramatic cinematic effect. Billowing clowds of smoke may be ineffecient, but the are impressive."
What a load of buffalo chips. dramatic, impressive black smoke -- not at all. It shows inept and inefficient operation. Billowing clouds of steam from the stack when a lok is working hard ARE impressive, but most 'railfans' are too stupid to know the difference, so the inefficient practise of poor combustion is continued with the excuse of "dramatic cinematic effect". It's even worse with an oil fired lok, especially when the greasy black smuts settle on your vehicle because the engineer thought he was 'impressing' the stupid 'railfans'.
Railfans are a necessary element for our railroads survival, however they should be educated instead of their stupidity being pandered to.
