My comment really regards TRAINING as a fireman...training as in learning to do the job. I believe you termed it something to the effect of that...or training as an employee. I would want to hire on!
As regards the "For a Day" part...I don't think anyone would expect to fire a train hauling paying passengers under that program. I believe an extra engine would be used and probably it would run the yard, maybe a mile or two out on the line, then back. I agree that the line couldn't afford the risk (damage or loss of revenue) to incorporate such a program into regular runs.
Oh well, probably will remain a dream...but if there is a possibility, I'd invest the time...hmmmm.
