D&RGW 169 Update

September 03, 2004 08:45PM
The September 2004 issue of the Alamosa Chamber of Commerce paper reports that as of Aug. 10 the tender tank had been riveted and was being checked for leaks. The next step was to be riveting the top on and painting the tank. As of the first of September, a timeline for final assembly and placement in the pavilion was being worked on. Items are on sale at the Chamber office to help fund the restoration of 169: T-shirts, mugs and prints of John Coker's watercolor "Extra 169 West". The Chamber's Web site is www.alamosachamber.com.
