Also with great respect, I disagree with your assessment of the first shot I posted. Over the years she went through many different dabblings of paint, but that shot is about as early as can be found of the loco in service in the first year. That black pilot didn't last long! The boiler jacket may well be green and carried over to the "Green River" version when cab and tender got the dark green treatment with the hideous red domes and pilot. Chances are we'll never truly know.
At least she wasn't as gaudy as the early 50's repaint of poor ol' 41. That super restoration and paint job on 41 is vindication for the years she was a painted floozy. It took decades but I sure am glad the Cedar Fair/Knott's folks have recognized the value of historical preservation. What started in the early 90's has come to fruition, thanks to some dedicated employees, like you, Jeff, who gradually changed things until we are where we are today. These 'new' C-19s might well make their 200th!
