Motor 6 when built used a Buick 6cyl, likely oullednout of Motor 1 or a spare they had for #1. In 1951 the engine was replaced with a brand new chevy 6cyl. Now Stan Rhine says it was a 216ci Chevy, and this 1951 replacement was still in the 6 when it arrived at the museum but would barely run. It was pulled out and replaced with a slightly newer 1956 or so Chevy 235ci 6cyl. Back to the other Chevy. We still have it on property and I decoded the casting numbers and it isn't a 216ci it is a 235ci with a casting date of December 19, 1950.
