While I greatly admire the intentions expressed by those in this thread, I would offer a word of caution. We must realize that this entire situation is obviously bigger than just the CHS and the GLRR, and hence must be aware of other factors that have been discussed on this board in past months. I would refer you to what I've posted on the Railway Preservation News Interchange relative to a question from Ross Rowland, at the URL below. I would hope that my assessment is a more formidable scene than is the real situation, but realistically, it seems to be at least a skeleton of the complex monster we face.
It's one thing for the GLRR operators and their dedicated team to keep the railroad running. But it's quite another for them to have to do it with the kind of contempt they face from the very agency that should be supporting them wholeheartedly!
