Thank you, JB. Glad you like those Steyr Valley Narrow Gauge photos. This morning the temperature on the north side of the San Juan mountains was in the minus figures, so I decided to scan more of the Steyr Valley photos while waiting for the outside temperature to climb. Scanning those negatives was almost like having a new adventure - seeing all those photos for the first time had me re-living half-forgotten times from half a century ago. Back then making 8x10 prints in the darkroom was pretty laborious and time consuming, so that only a very small fraction of the photos were ever printed.The remainder remained unseen all these year until today
Here are a group of photos with "Straw Men" along the narrow gauge
Those "Straw Men" are about as far as you can from mechanized farming, but they are a perfect match for the steam powered narrow gauge that shares the rural countryside in the mountains
