The gauge is 760 mm, which is very close to 2 ft 6 in. The Steyrtalbahn engines burned coal that was hand shoveled into the coal pockets from narow gauge gondolas at the Garsten engine terminal

Here are some other scenes at the engine facilities. 298 51 seems to be getting some work done on the valve motion, in addition to other services.

Inside the engine house is 699 103 jacked up on blocks with the wheels removed for some serious running gear work
