The late Henry Brueckman passed along to me that the Heber Creeper was short of air pump packing
just before I headed off there on a July 1980 trip. I had one last box of it that was a gift from a retiring Std. Oil
machinist so I took it along.
One of their guys was so happy with the packing that he asked me if there was anything they could do in return.
What could I say, I really would like to be able to run 36. Since I was not familiar with the line. they suggested
from the runaround down in the Canyon to the siding up at the lake.
Wow, she was so strong with that lengthened train that you could crack just one more notch and she'd gain speed
on the hill that went over the local hwy. A real stud puller, kinda similar to Grand Canyon's 29 in that respect.
