I am not as sharp as I was years go, and did not know Reed had another double header in 1968. I apologize for stealing the thread and mixing up the Maverick trip. I still had a good time working there back then.

Reed had an agreement with the Tribe that the Tribe had the right to the concessions, including the lunch trade. When the Tribe did not make much money, they dumped the concessions and lunch business back on Reed. Reed then would build up the lunch meal and people would buy it because it was good and filling. As soon as the Tribe saw the business was back, they would utilize the contract right and start serving a cheap lunch. One of the Tribe girls would be assigned to sell concessions in one of the cars during the trip. Usually, the girl was scared to death and would hardly talk to a potential customer and sales went way down. Back to Reed the lunch trade went. This happened quite regularly and Reed tried to get the Tribe to let him do the lunches and the Tribe could get a cut of the money. Nope, never did work out and that is why one reason the Tribe was always mad at Reed. Ultimately, the Tribe forced Reed out and the tourist trade never reached the volume when Reed moved the whole thing north.

What a sad ending . Reed sold the locomotives.
