Earl....to answer your question I do not remember if there was one or two caboose from Durango to Chama. It was mostly Box cars as I recall and I am not sure I have images with the end of the train. We chased from Durango to Gato. I remember they left the train on the other side of the bridge, and 498 went into town for water and lunch. I guess mom and dad were in a hurry, cause we hit Gomez store for snacks and didn't get the train leaving as we headed for P. Spings and the main highway to Chama. I believe we may have stayed in a motel that night in Chama, but we did have our truck camper. Some day I will research this 498 train more.
