Steve,
I really don't care if CHS does read or does not read. I do care if they act responsibly with the Georgetown Loop. Perhaps if they listened more, this situation would have been resolved a long time ago. It's more of a matter of hoping they'd solicit some help and do the right things, and not simply "bashing". I have not stated anything here that is not traceable to a source, typically CHS's own misinformed statements.
To this point, CHS has not released anything publicly that is credible or accurate. If they have their act together and have something legitimate to state, we would all be interested. But, they don't (yet). They're feeling their way through their self-created darkness and simply hoping for a miracle to save their reputation (which has been good until this circumstance).
The worst bashing they deserve is smiting the operator that worked with them for 30 years ... FROM SCRATCH!
I'm hoping they come to their senses and develop a solution for the Georgetown Loop that is reasonable and beneficial for everybody and historical C&S railroad artifacts. The statements that they have made to this point do not indicate reasonable or beneficial.
CHS is not out to appeal to the railfan or tourist industry with their current approach. They propose consuming historical artifacts with daily use and these artifacts do not logistically have the capability to support the demand capacity of the current tourist flow. They could have their cake, their equipment, and cash flow if they'd deflate a couple of egos and invite the current operators back to the table with reasonable expectations.
