MANY years ago I sent a small donation to the CRRM – IIRC it was $50 or $100 toward the rebuild of RGS #20 – and I wrote at the bottom right of the envelope
"Attn: " followed by Bill's former CRRM title but translated to pseudo-Gaelic. I heard that it didn't get delivered for more than a week, until someone in the office shouted,
"Who the Hell is Haich O'Mannder?" . . .
And you gotta admit "Haich O'Mannder" is a lot different from "HAICH OMANDIER", which sounds to me not so much Gaelic as French or maybe – like my older dog Bosco (a Brabanter Bülllenbeisser) – it's Flemish. It's not Swedish, anyway, and it's a good thing it's not Tuzigoot (which is derived from Leif Ericson's native Danish — see [
ngdiscussion.net]) or hardly any of us could even come close to pronouncing it.
