The first accounts for Dunsmuir having a 2-6-0 (which SFAIK never served north of Redding or maybe even Red Bluff) in their city park north of town instead of an AC-6 or 2-10-2 near the depot, and the latter for the rumor I've heard that Santa Barbara turned down the ultimate 4-8-4 — Timkin-roller-bearing #4458, which was a regular on S.P.'s
