I wish you well with your travels. Your schedule is ambitious and will not allow you to enjoy the communities in Nevada and California that you will travel through.

Shortest route from Bishop (near Laws) to the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine takes you through Yosemite National Park. Check out requirements for transiting the park:

If you go on highway 49 to Jamestown, check out the little porter in Coulterville. It is at the State highway junction in town. By the way, HIghway 49 has its twists and turns along the way that can slow you down.

I think you will be overwhelmed.by the railroad stuff and the scenery you will see.
