Amen to that Olaf, many good memories of having the whole eastern side of the railroad all to ourselves, thanks for doing some stops that even I voted for. It was a learning experience for me, and probably the best Charter I have ever rode on.
Please don't anyone get too bent out of shape on this quote, but I heard through the grapevine that the Durango Railroad Historical Society(315) took a big hit on this charter and never received payment for services render. Though we riders of the charter paid our part for to ride this charter, some of the funds didn't make it to their final destinations, I'm not sure how much they were shorted, but I would hope that they can find some form of happy medium some where. I for one would donate some narrow gauge railroad books if such a fund was created, to help with their losses.
