I expect them to sell off the two orphans. Or part them out.

It does not make sense to have to keep two sets of parts and manuals (and pay for training) for two different prime movers.

And the ALCO 251F is in production by the current owner of the design -- Fairbanks Morse Defense (formerly just Fairbanks Morse) . [www.fairbanksmorse.com]

And Fairbanks Morse is the OEM supplier of parts for the ALCO marine and stationary design. And there are at least two aftermarket suppliers indicating that they serve the railroad applications.
