Thats the issue, those car bodies were modified to be narrower than your standard Standard gauge diesel. I would say that they would do alright, but when MP&ES finished the bodies all the way back in mid 2020, the shared a picture of them with the railroad sitting on standard gauge 4 axle trucks. Even if you could rework them for standard gauge applications, they would not be an ideal choice. Plus, GSMR has already purchased a number of rebuilt and repowered locomotives in the last few years to give them some more modern power, all of which I am sure were much cheaper than those.....
