This seems to have been taken from very close to milepost 287 before the dirt road crosses the grade, The low winter sun angle is from the southeast, so the train is headed southwest; the Los Mogotes volcanoes are NNW of here and can't be seen until the track is on top of the mesa at Lava. At 9,442 ft Big Horn Pk is more than 1,200 ft higher than the elevation here and only 3-4 miles away straight-line, so it is easy to see. The other smaller peak on the right (unnamed) is a bit under 9,200 ft and about 1 mile north of the Big Horn wye.
