The flanger spreader outfit is continuing up the valley at a fast pace
By this time it has become obvious that we can't keep ahead of the train without tire chains. Time to let the train pull ahead. Luckily we are pretty sure that the crew will take some time to water both engines at Lava, and that we might be able to beat the train to the Whiplash area after chaining up.
Installing tire chains only takes a few minutes and we are off again
We managed to make it up to the vicinity of the S-curve leading into the lower level of the Whiplash when going on looked pretty doubtful, and we decided to walk from here. We could hear the train working upgrade in the distance but we still had some minutes to find a photo spot.
