As for the VW beetle at the highway 550 crossing, I doubt that I would have let my beetle sit on the main road, and I am pretty sure that Jeff was not riding with me, and that Ernie drove separately on November 9 and 10, 1967. But here is a shot that is my Blue Beetle for sure: 493 at Sublette with the drill mud unit train (17 boxcars of drill mud) on November 21, 1967. My brother Wolf took the picture, as that is me talking to fireman Stanley Smith by 493's cab.
