Most of the Huckleberry equipment that did not come from the CRRM or Hal Wilmunder's Camino operation came from a failed project that had gathered a bunch of ex NdeM cars and a few locomotives at the Puddingstone Reservoir in Southern California. My best understanding was that this equipment had been gathered for a tourist train project that never got off of the ground. My 1980 Private Passenger Car Annual lists the former owners as variously San Bernardino Orange Show, and Early West Railways, with a few Scenic Railways (!) thrown in. The CyZ outside frame 2-8-0 at Midwest Central was also with this stuff. Huckleberry coaches 40, 42, 100, 102, and CyZ caboose were restored from this collection; and the trucks for 260, 306, and 320 came from cars too far gone or burnt to be saved. One of the sets of trucks under 320 or 306 even has the extended bolster with the outside side bearings, as per DRGW original; however, the trucks for the most part have NdeM casting marks on the pedestals.
