The cool thing about the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad is there really is no bad spot to photograph the movement of steam operations it's all in what the photographer can do in the circumstances he is dealt. Making something out of nothing so to say is what wild-eye photography is all about.
Even in a charter, some photographers will not get the perfect photo they wanted, sometimes the lines are so long that if you wanted to get the perfect angle photo of something that resembled an Otto Perry image you had to be in one spot, 50 people can't stand in the "one spot", even with multiple runbys not everyone will be satisfied. So it's good for a photographer to be a little open minded, and inventive, I've seen a camera on a pole before, that's pretty good but does it accomplish the final results that you want? Possibly.
What are some of your ideas?
