Interesting to note too, is that the small ponds that are located inside tanglefoot loop often times are slim and scum covered, in 2010 when I was out there photographing the 40th Anniversary of the Cumbres and Toltec I found that this time of year isn't the best time for water reflectant images, when the first frost of fall enters the highland and freezes the algae in these little ponds, the scum seems to dissipate dropping too the bottom of the pond, thus opening the field of veiw as clear as glass. September and October have always shown clear pond water to me in the past.
